Illustrative workflow

How the work connects

  1. Identify

Name the document and the authoritative record.

  2. Control

Agree who may access it and who approves sharing.

  3. Hand off

Test the retrieval and sharing workflow in the relevant product.

A document request should start with a reference

SIP’s coordination offering includes shipping-document sharing, digital BOL and POD capture, and a searchable document repository. These give the team a place to look when a carrier or customer asks for delivery paperwork.

Agree the references your team uses to find a document: the delivery, the appointment or the customer’s purchase-order number. Consistent references make the document easier to locate.

Plan the document handoff alongside the delivery

Before a delivery, identify the paperwork the warehouse needs. After the handoff, identify the evidence the carrier or client may need. That makes document coordination part of the operating process.

For example, a missing delivery document can become an operational request. The person resolving it needs to know which reference is missing and who can provide it.

Connect the coordination process to the warehouse

Document coordination belongs to the existing separate SIP offering. Its integration with SIP WMS is planned alongside the broader external-communication workflow.

The implementation discussion establishes document types, access needs and the handoffs between the separate tools and warehouse execution.
