Dock scheduling and carrier communication

Let carriers book the dock. Give your team the plan.

SIP scheduling gives carriers self-service booking against dock availability, with appointment updates for the people preparing the arrival.

For warehouses coordinating inbound deliveries and outbound collections.

Available as a separate SIP offering. Integration into SIP WMS is coming soon.

How the work connects

  1. Before arrival

Agree the appointment and the information the warehouse needs.

  2. When plans change

Identify who owns the change and who needs an update.

  3. At the warehouse

Follow the agreed receiving process; integrated WMS handoffs are coming soon.

Make availability visible before the call

Carriers can arrange appointments through SIP’s scheduling offering. The warehouse configures dock capacity and appointment types, so booking starts with the operation’s constraints.

A scheduled arrival gives the receiving team a planning point. Delivery timing, reference numbers and handling needs belong in the appointment conversation.

Keep the changed plan in view

An arrival time changes. A delivery needs different handling. The team needs to know which appointment changed and which external partner needs an update.

Use appointment notifications and the carrier’s booking information to coordinate the next step. The objective is fewer repeated status questions and a clearer handoff at the dock.

Scheduling and warehouse execution are coming together

Today, SIP scheduling is a separate offering from SIP WMS. The upcoming integration will bring external coordination closer to receiving, orders and warehouse work.

For a warehouse introducing both, the implementation discussion covers dock capacity, carrier access and the handoff to the receiving team.

Frequently asked questions

Can carriers book their own appointments?

Yes. SIP’s separate scheduling offering provides carrier self-service booking against dock availability.

Is scheduling already integrated into SIP WMS?

The WMS integration is coming soon. Scheduling is currently a separate SIP offering.

What should we prepare for a scheduling walkthrough?

Bring your dock layout, appointment types, capacity constraints and an example of a changed arrival. These establish how booking should work for your warehouse.
